EQUAL VISION RECORDS WELCOMES MAE

EQUAL VISION RECORDS WELCOMES MAE

Indie Rock duo Mae is ready for the next chapter. The band is excited to announce they’ve signed with Equal Vision Records and plans to release new music early next year, the first new music in over 5 years. Mae vocalist, David Elkins, is currently producing the new album this fall and winter at his studio, Schematic Studios, in Nashville, TN.

With two decades plus as a band, the Norfolk, Virginia natives wrote their first song “Embers and Envelopes” in their living room, the standout single on their debut album, Destination:Beautiful. Amid the success of the album, Mae performed on the Vans Warped Tour as well as support for Foo Fighters, Weezer, and The Fray, among others over the course of their career.

To coincide with the announcement, Mae is launching a 20-year re-press of Destination:Beautiful on vinyl to celebrate signing to Equal Vision and the anniversary. Limited vinyl variants are available for pre-order now, more details can be found here: https://whatismae.lnk.to/destination-beautiful

On signing with Equal Vision Records, Zach Gehring of Mae shares, “We’ve admired Equal Vision for years, even since we started. We love the label, we love their bands past & present, and we are extremely thankful to be a part of their legacy.”

Matthew Gordner at Equal Vision Records adds, “As an organization, we have closely followed Mae since their inception, with our artists touring together for two decades. Welcoming them as an official part of our family feels like a natural step, and we eagerly anticipate contributing to the ongoing growth of Mae’s future.”

Mae recently shared they’ll be hitting the road to celebrate 20 years of their debut album, Destination:Beautiful. The tour kicks off in Washington, D.C. on September 21st and includes support from Maggie Miles, Veaux, Valleyheart, Manic., and Tedious & Brief on select dates. In addition to general tickets, VIP tickets are also available which include an acoustic show, tour poster, meet & greet, tour exclusive vinyl and a 2008 “Embers and Envelopes” digital download.
